O'Callaghan's Irish Pub is a scratch-kitchen Irish pub at The Barnyard Shopping Village in Carmel, California. In December it's one of the easiest places on the Monterey Peninsula to throw a holiday party: a fireplace inside, a semi-covered patio with heaters, a full Irish whiskey bar, and free parking right outside the door.

How many guests can O'Callaghan's hold for a holiday party?

Up to about 150 guests, standing and mingling, when you book the whole pub with the indoor bar and outdoor patio together. Smaller groups of 15 to 60 fit well in a reserved section.

Do we have to book the whole pub?

No. Most office and friends' holiday parties use a reserved section while the pub stays open. For a larger company party, a full buyout gives your group the indoor pub and patio to yourselves.

What food can you serve?

Everything comes from our scratch kitchen: passed bites, appetizer spreads, food stations, and desserts from our in-house pastry chef, with vegetarian options. Favorites include honey chili wings, beef sliders, Irish potato nachos, and Irish soda bread. See the menu.

Can we host the bar?

Yes. Choose a hosted beer and wine bar, beer, wine and well drinks, or a full open bar with an optional premium spirits upgrade. You can also start with an opening tab and let guests buy their own drinks after it runs out.

Is the patio heated?

Yes. The patio is semi-covered with heaters, so guests can spread out and use it even on a December night.

How late can a holiday party go?

Private parties can run as late as 2 AM.

Is there parking?

Yes. Parking is free in The Barnyard lots right outside the pub, with no meters, which makes it easy for guests coming from Monterey, Pacific Grove, Carmel Valley, or Salinas.
